MLS clubs can bring in new players from February 12th until May 5th, and as per Football Insider, Reid is set to make the switch across the pond. The report claims the 31-year-old has headed to America to undergo a medical, and seal what is expected to be a loan move.
Sad end
It has been a very difficult few years for the New Zealand international. He has not played for the first-team since March 2018 due to a knee injury. Even though he has been fit since the summer, he has been on the bench on just three occasions so far this campaign.
Before that, he had been a regular for the Hammers, making 223 appearances during his time at the club, and scoring 10 goals along the way too.
Whilst it is said to be a loan move initially, should it go well, Nashville may be convinced to try and make it permanent. Either way, it looks as though it could be the end of his time at the club, but this is a deal that, although a little late, is the correct one for all involved.

With three years still left on his contract, the last thing West Ham will want, is to keep a player who does not appear to be in their plans moving forward on their books. He has a salary of £70,000-a-week – only four players earn more than him at the club. This move could put him in the shop window for another outfit to take him on permanently – that could even be Nashville themselves.
For the 31-year-old, this is a chance to start again after a torrid time recently in London. After spending so much time on the sidelines, this move is likely to give him much-needed minutes. And although things have been tough, this could be a win-win scenario for all involved.
Meanwhile, West Ham fans react to their transfer deadline day signing.
