da 888casino: Tottenham Hotspur’s 7-2 capitulation at home to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night was shocking, and coincided with an unexpected poor performance from midfielder Harry Winks.
Aside from the Carabao Cup clash against Colchester United where he was presumably rested, the England international has been in every one of Mauricio Pochettino’s starting XIs this so far this season.
It has been deserved on his form too, with him being one of the few players to receive any plaudits from fans following the disappointing Champions League opener against Olympiacos, while he was also given a 7/10 rating by Football London for his display in the defeat against Leicester City.

The 23-year-old, who is rated at £36m by Transfermarkt, started at the base of the diamond against the Bundesliga giants, but the usually Mr Reliable was uncharacteristically bad on the ball.
While he is a solid player, this was further evidence that he is not an out-and-out defensive midfielder as things stand, and perhaps never will be.
Winks has an average passing accuracy record of 92.2% in the Premier League this term, according to WhoScored, but that quality wasn’t on show against the German outfit.
As per SofaScore, he only had an accuracy of 76% against the visitors on Tuesday, while he was also guilty of losing possession on 15 occasions.
When you take into account he was responsible for Bayern’s third and failed to make a single interception during the contest, you can see why the Englishman was seriously below par.
It’s probably fair to say that Pochettino must take some of the blame as the diamond formation clearly didn’t suit Winks – especially against a European powerhouse – but it was also a wasted opportunity for him prove he can dominate on the biggest stage.
The 23-year-old will hope to retain his spot in the starting XI and bounce back accordingly when Spurs face Brighton in the Premier League at the weekend.
