da fezbet: According to The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare, Jose Mourinho could oversee two departures to his first-team squad – Victor Wanyama permanently and Oliver Skipp on loan.

“Wanyama might still go, Skipp could yet leave on loan. Incomings-wise, the smart money is on it being over, but I wouldn’t be amazed if they pulled off a striker signing late doors.”

The 28-year-old midfielder has been linked with a return to his former club Celtic, but it’s believed that his reluctance to accept lower wages than the £65k-per-week he currently sits on is the major stumbling block. Eccleshare believes the only way the Scottish giants could afford it is if Spurs cover a percentage.
Meanwhile, Skipp is only 19-years-old and could do with regular game time away from north London, especially after the signing of Gedson Fernandes earlier the window.

The Athletic correspondent also goes on to suggest that it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Spurs clinch a striker before 11pm, but that seems rather unlikely in comparison after being ruled out of several additions as per Alasdair Gold’s latest article.
