Liverpool cashed in on the 31-year-old last month after Zenit came knocking with a £10.9million offer (via BBC Sport). He has since played every minute of football with his new club, keeping three clean sheets in the Premier Liga and scoring a goal against FK Rostov (via Transfermarkt).
Their most recent fixture against Lokomotiv Moscow saw Lovren step up to take a free-kick for Zenit, which whistled wide of the post. Liverpool fans have found the footage of his set piece on social media and have flocked to the comments section to express their shock over something they don’t recall ever seeing the Croatian do during his time at Anfield.
One supporter has stopped and tweeted ‘wait, what?’ in their blatant surprise whilst another has said ‘2020 just got weirder’.
