da supremo: Leeds United agreed a deal to allow Tom Pearce to leave the club on deadline day as the young defender left to join Wigan.
The left-back had attracted the interest of Barnsley last week but that move fell through as he moved to the Latics for a reported £250k instead.
His departure came in the middle of two incomings as Illan Meslier and Eddie Nketiah arrived on loan.
However, as the player had passed his medial with Wigan, there appeared to be different views on his exit on Twitter.
One fan said he didn’t want any moaning from fans due to him being fourth choice at Elland Road. A further individual said he wasn’t mobile enough whilst another supporter was simply glad to get him off the wage bill.
Pearce rarely played for Leeds in 2018/19, being afforded just two appearances in the Championship. He was then granted a further three chances to impress in various cup competitions, per Transfermarkt.
With Leif Davis coming through the ranks and the variety of options they have in that area of the pitch, it’s unlikely that Pearce’s loss will be felt too hard throughout the club.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
