da betobet: Alan Pardew is looking to bring in a ‘big name’ player before the transfer window closes according to Sky Sports.
da esoccer bet: The Newcastle boss doesn’t want to be left short of options going into the new season and wants to add to the business already done this summer.
He has brought in Demba Ba, Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux and Mehdi Abeid and is keen to strengthen even further with a big name player on his wish list.
A replacement for Andy Carroll has been the quest for most of the summer with the Magpies still pursuing Paris Saint Germain’s Melvut Erdinc.
However a replacement for Jose Enrique could jump to the head of the queue after the unsettled defenders outburst on twitter last night.
The Spaniard all but sealed his exit from the club with a series of attacks against the club’s transfer policy during their American tour.
Pardew was quick to address Enriques comments and declared that cover was needed at left back whether or not he remains at St James’ Park.
He said: “As a manager, of course I want him to stay. The worst thing for us would be if he went late, that’s the problem.
“We are trying to do some business because we need to cover ourselves in that area between now and the end of the window regardless of Enrique.
“I am confident well get at least one, and maybe two, big players in here.”
