The 27-year-old, though, was far from impressed with the way he was treated and decided to retaliate by shouting expletives in the direction of the stands.
He has since apologised, but whether or not that will burn any bridges remains to be seen. Either way, the fans will not be able to share their thoughts of him against Wolves, with Unai Emery confirming that the former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder will not feature.
