da brwin: Jota is in talks with Fulham regarding a loan deal from Aston Villa, as reported by The Daily Mail.
What’s the story?
da esoccer bet: It is suggested that the Spaniard has been a transfer target for Fulham in the past, and Scott Parker is a fan of his.
Part of the reasoning behind the decision to let him leave on a potential loan is that his wages could be put towards bringing in another striker.
Despite bringing in Mbwana Samatta and having Keinan Davis back from injury, it’s claimed that Villa want to bring another frontman in, following Jonathan Kodjia’s departure and Wesley’s season-ending injury.
Strengthening this position is seen to be a key component of Villa maintaining their Premier League status past the current campaign.

Little impact
Jota’s impact for Villa this season has been minuscule after he moved to the club from Brentford in the summer.
He has made just four Premier League starts this campaign, making another four appearances off the bench, which have brought about one assist and no goals. During that time, he has averaged 0.5 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game.
There is also very little that has been offered in terms of defensive numbers: 0.3 tackles, 0.3 interceptions and 0.6 clearances on average.
For away day veterans only: Can you name all of these defunct stadiums?
In the cups, the 28-year-old has managed four starts, which produced one goal – during a 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
There have been games where he has seemed almost invisible, with his Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur setting the tone for that, as in his 31 minutes on the pitch, the Spaniard didn’t manage any shots, dribbles or key passes.
Overall, this has been an anticlimactic season regarding the general impact that Jota has made at Villa Park, so as well as affording him game time and freeing up wages for a striker, there will be hope that this deal could see him reignite his form.
Meanwhile, Villa fans have reacted to reports that another of their players could head out on loan.
