da betsul: Anthony Joseph – an award-winning journalist according to his Twitter bio – has thrown up the prospect of Steven Gerrard bringing his ex-Liverpool teammate Daniel Sturridge to Rangers.
The England international has spent the current campaign with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, although he mutually agreed to have his contract terminated on Monday just eight months into his three-year deal with the Super Lig side.
Sturridge actually did quite well for the club during his brief stay, scoring seven goals and registering four assists in 16 appearances for Trabzonspor – his reasons for leaving remain unknown.
While there has been no concrete word on the striker’s next step as of yet, Joseph has thrown up the prospect of Gerrard bringing his former teammate to Ibrox.
Gerrard and Sturridge played together for six years at Anfield, where the forward scored 68 goals in 160 appearances for the Reds and also earned a Champions League winners medal.
