da roleta: Chelsea are interested in a move for prolific Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen, who has emerged as one of Europe’s most devastating forwards with the Italian Serie A runaway leaders…
What’s the word?
da cassino online: According to The Mirror, Chelsea will look to rival Manchester United in the pursuit of Napoli’s devastating offensive weapon, in what could be a mammoth £100m deal.
The Nigerian centre-forward arrived in Naples for roughly £81.3m from French outfit LOSC Lille in 2020, and Chelsea could look to land a first-rate new addition up front to complete their new-look outfit.
Graham Potter’s Blues have remarkably spent over £550m since Todd Boehly took ownership of the club last year, but the centre-forward position remains largely incomplete, and despite the meeting of the £52.7m release clause for forward Christopher Nkunku having been agreed, an out-and-out striker in the mould of Osimhen could indeed spearhead the new era.
“Heart and soul”
Adding Osimhen to the fold would be a stunning addition and perhaps the missing ingredient to truly cement the club’s authority as a major player on the European scene.
Having made 83 appearances for the Blues, the 24-year-old has scored 45 goals and served 13 assists, with his destructive current seasonal tally of 17 goals from 21 appearances an indication that he is indeed blossoming into one of Europe’s great strikers.
As per FBref, the “goal machine” – as hailed by journalist Mimi Fawaz – ranks among the top 2% of forwards for rate of non-penalty goals, the top 4% for total shots and the top 9% for touches in the attacking penalty area, when compared to players within Europe’s top five leagues over the past year.
And with his outfit currently perching atop the Serie A table and topping a Champions League group consisting of Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers, his inclusion within one of the game’s most formidable outfits at present bodes well for his prospective arrival last Stamford Bridge.
Hailed the “heart and soul” of his outfit by writer Mina Rzouki, his talismanic aura could certainly cog a long way to pumping vigorous and perpetual life into the current Chelsea team, who languish in ninth place in the Premier League despite the opulence of the hierarchy.
Chelsea, for all of the money pumped into the squad since last summer, has thus far only purchased 33-year-old Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the striking role, and while £97.5m signing Romelu Lukaku is out on loan with Inter Milan, his subpar season last year – scoring just eight league goals – and the acrimonious circumstances surrounding his departure mean it is unlikely he will return to lead the line.
With Chelsea paving the financial foundation for an illustrious future under the new ownership, landing Osimhen to lead the attack could be the perfect way to ensure that when the ball starts rolling in west London, it only increases in speed and ferocity. Indeed, he could well be the heart and soul of Potter and Boehly’s frantic revolution at the Bridge.
